Purpose & Description

This course offers a supportive environment for non-native speakers of English to improve their ability to make academic presentations and participate in academic discussion in English. In each class, participants will take turns to make presentations, usually on their own study and research, and to give constructive feedback on logical flow and cohesion, visual aids, timing and speaking skills. As necessary, we will review key elements of academic presentations and focus on pronunciation, useful phrases, vocabulary and techniques for participating in discussion. (Academic Presentation I is not a prerequisite.)
