This research seminar is primarily intended to help students develop analytical skills, conduct research, and write a thesis. It also introduces students with inductive research methods and strategies. In Seminar I, students will critically dicuss the key literature relevant to their research, formulate research questions, and carry out literature reviews. In Seminar II, which is a thesis prep. seminar, M2 and doctoral students present their research in progress and receive feedback from the instructor and other participants, while M1 students select a topic, consider research methodologies, and write a research paper.
Grades are based on class participation (30%), presentation on research in progress (40%), presentation and short memos on the reviews of relevant literature (30%).
